12 DAYS BEST OF UGANDA AND RWANDA

This 12 days safari which starts in Entebbe and finishes in Rwanda . A safari that starts with Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls , Track the fast moving and elusive chimpanzees in Kibale Forest, game viewing on the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park - elephant, lion, buffalo, hippo, and leopard.  See the rich wildlife and array of birds on the Kazinga Channel.  In Ishasha go on the hunt for the tree-climbing lions lounging on old fig trees. Seeing some of the last remaining 700 mountain gorillas in the world is a fantastic experience.

Day One -KAMPALA- ENTEBBE (37 KMS)

Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport by a Guide who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities.  After a short transfer to your hotel (30-45min drive) you will be briefed about you safari. Depending on the time of arrival e.g. if your flight arrives in the morning, you are advised to have money hanged this day. To get to know Kampala, you can visit some of the landmarks in town with the help of our driver/guide.  Overnight at either Lake Victoria  Serena Resort for up market  accommodation or Cassia Lodge for  Medium range accommodation, or Namirembe Guest House for Low budget accommodation.  BB

Day Two - KAMPALA- MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK (311KMS)

After an early morning breakfast transfer to Murchison falls National Park passing through the famous Luwero triangle, visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary then drive to Masindi   for lunch. After your lunch proceed to the top of the dramatic falls that are crashing through a narrow gorge. Enjoy the sunset as you return to the lodge. Day Three -MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

After an early morning breakfast, have a game drive on the Northern bank for a game drive. You may be able to spot see Cape buffalo, elephant, Roth child's giraffe, lion, hartebeest, oribi, waterbuck, bohor reed buck, bushbuck, hyena and lucky enough will be able to see the leopard. After lunch, go for a boat safari from Paraa to the bottom of the mighty exciting falls. You will view the largest crocodiles in Africa, hippos, elephant from a distance, Uganda cob, water bucks and birds like the Shoebill which is only found in Uganda. Day Four -MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK- FORTPORTAL (441 KMS)

After your morning breakfast you depart Murchison Falls to Fort Portal driving through the country side with a stop over for lunch en-route. You will have a chance to view local farms on your way and your will arrive Fort Portal late afternoon. Overnight at either  Primate Lodge   for up market accommodation, or  Mountains of the Moon Hotel for mid range accommodation or Rwenzori View Guest House for Low budget accommodation. FB

 

Day Five - KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we visit Kibale Forest National Park, which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others. After lunch go for Bidogi swamp walk. Overnight at either  Primate Lodge   for up market accommodation, or  Mountains of the Moon Hotel for mid range accommodation or Rwenzori View Guest House for Low budget accommodation. FB

Day Six -FORTPORTAL - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK. (157KMS)

On this day after your morning breakfast you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range for most of the journey.  A game drive en-route may be rewarded by seeing a lot of wild animals such as elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena and variety of antelope species.  After lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which joins Lake Edward and Lake George.  You will see a lot of hippos and other animals may be seen drinking at water’s edge.  During this launch cruise you will have opportunity to take photographs, game viewing and bird watching with over 550 resident species of colorful birds for you to enjoy.

Day Seven - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Today we have an early morning game drive.  Queen Elizabeth National Park is a home of abundant wildlife with grassy plains, and volcanic craters.  You will have an excellent opportunity to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephants, defassa waterbuck, Uganda kob, topi and bushbuck. Later transfer to Ishasha sector where you will go for yet another game drive in the evening in search of tree climbing lions.
Over night at either Ishasha Wilderness Camp for up market accommodation or Savannah Resort Hotel for Medium range accommodation. FB

 

Day Eight - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK- BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK (150 KMS)

After your breakfast you will depart Queen Elizabeth National Park for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by driving through the ‘Switzerland of Africa’ area known as Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads.  Overnight at Gorilla Safari Lodge for up market accommodation, or Kisoro Travelers Hotel for Mid range accommodation. Day Nine -BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

Early morning entry into the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest the rainforest is spectacular, It offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal¹s trails allowing access to tourists.   Mammals recorded include the  endangered Mt Gorilla, rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest hog and others.  This park is best known for the fascinating gorillas. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is a rare moving, awesome and exciting adventure. There is always a ranger guide to interpret the Fauna and the Flora. The gorilla is a shy and peaceful animal and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact the others that are not going Gorilla tracking will have community walk to observe traditional. Day Ten - BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK- PARC NATIONAL PARK

 

After breakfast you will transfer to Parc Des National Volcanoes- Rwanda . Watch out for the stunning scenic beauty en-route to Ruhengeri. Overnight at  either at Gorilla Mountain View  lodge for up market accommodation or La Palme Hotel for medium accommodation or Kinigi Guest House  for Low budget accommodation. (FB)

Day Eleven -PARC NATIONAL DES VOLCANS – KIGALI

On this day you can either visit the golden monkeys or trek to Dian Fossey's grave , in the afternoon visit the local community. Overnight at  either at Gorilla Mountain View  lodge for up market accommodation or La Palme Hotel for medium accommodation or Kinigi Guest House  for Low budget accommodation. (FB)

Day Twelve - RUHENGERI – KIGALI AIRPORT

After your morning breakfast you will transfer to Kigali, have a city tour like visiting the genocide and later transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home.
