NAIROBI - MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

ST 012 - 3 DAYS

DAY 1: NAIROBI - MASAI MARA

Depart from Nairobi for a journey south along the floor of the great Rift Valley, lunch at Narok and then climb the western wall entering the Serengeti Plains. Arrive later in the afternoon in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Set up camp in the reserve. Meals and overnight at the campsite.

DAY 2: MASAI MARA

A full day spent viewing across the rich, tree studded grasslands and rolling hills. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains’ game, black manned lion, leopard and cheetah, but also contains numerous elephant and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. All meals and overnight at the campsite.

DAY 3: MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

After breakfast depart for Nairobi, enjoy a picnic lunch enroute arriving Nairobi by early evening.

SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

ST 013 - 3 DAYS

DAY 1: NAIROBI - SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

Depart from Nairobi and drive from the highlands to the much harsher, semi desert terrain. In this Wild and Savage Country lies Samburu National Reserve home to a number of species not found in the more southerly or westerly parks. These include the striking Reticulated Giraffe, the Beison Oryx and Grev’s Zebra, Elephant, Rhino, Lion and Leopard are also plentiful. The Reserve is bisected by the Uaso Nyiro River, where Crocodiles are plentiful and whose shady banks harbour large numbers of Antelope. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

DAY 2: SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

The day is spent exploring wildlife. All meals and overnight at the campsite.

DAY 03: SAMBURU NATIONAL PARK - NAIROBI

Depart Samburu after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi with picnic lunch en route to arrive by early evening.

NAIROBI - MASAI MARA - LAKE NAKURU - NAIROBI

ST 014 - 4 DAYSFlamingoes on Lake Nakuru

DAY 1: NAIROBI - MASAI MARA

DAY 2: MASAI MARA

DAY 3: MASAI MARA - LAKE NAKURU

In the morning depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, whose shallow alkaline lake has earned it fame, a home of the greatest bird spectacle in the world - the million or more Pink Flamingo which seasonally use its water to feed on the abundant algae. After lunch, game viewing driving along the lake shores. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

DAY 4: LAKE NAKURU - NAIROBI

Morning game drive. After breakfast depart to climb a rather scenic route, lunch enroute to Nairobi arriving early evening.

MASAI MARA & THE LAKES

ST 015 - 5 DAYS

Cheetah on the prowlThe safari takes us to the remote Lakes Baringo and Bogoria, a birdwatcher’s and a Naturalist’s paradise. Then back south to Lake Nakuru and over the Mau escarpment to Masai Mara where the largest concentration of game in Kenya is still to be found, Elephant, Zebra, Wildebeest, Rhino, Buffalo and Lion, to name just a few.

DAY 1: LAKE BOGORIA

Depart from Nairobi stopping enroute for panoramic views of the rift Valley, stop for lunch at Nakuru, set up camp at Lake Bogoria in the late afternoon. We camp near the Hot Springs, caution must be taken while walking nearby as these springs are super-hot. Flamingos can be viewed near the camp. Exploring this area by foot is possible.

DAY 2: LAKE NAKURU

After further viewing of this scenic lake we drive 30 kilometres north to Lake Baringo where we take a one hour boat trip to view the many birds which inhabit this lake. Hippo can also be seen. From here we drive back to Nakuru and camp in the National Park near the lake, once the home of many Flamingos and still home of many other types of birdlife, Waterbuck and Gazelle. Meals and overnight at the campsite.

DAY 3: MASAI MARA

We pick up extra supplies from Nakuru town and leave via Mau Narok, a lush farming area and one of the highest points along the Rift Valley. Lunch, to arrive Maasai Mara in the afternoon. Meals and overnight at the campsite.

DAY 4: MASAI MARA

From our base camp we explore the different and varied regions of this spectacular national park. The large windows of our minibus ensure excellent photography. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

DAY 5: MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

We pack up camp and make our way out of the park to Narok where souvenirs can be purchased. We arrive back in Nairobi early evening.

SAMBURU N. RESERVE - LAKE NAKURU N. PARK - MASAI MARA

ST 016 - 7 DAYS

A safari north of the Equator with a chance to view Mt. Kenya and game viewing in Samburu for animals which are not found in the south. A drive to the south via Lake Nakuru will climax the tour with Masai Mara having Kenya’s greatest concentration of wildlife.

DAY 1: NAIROBI - SAMBURU

Depart from Nairobi and drive through the central highlands of Kenya. Enroute you are able to see Coffee and Tea plantations; pass via Mt. Kenya where on a clear day you have a chance to take photographs of the snow capped mountain. Lunch will be served at Mt. Kenya Campsite. Arrive Samburu in the evening for a short game drive. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

DAY 2: SAMBURU PARK

After an early breakfast go for a game drive returning in time for lunch. Afternoon is spent in search of rare game like Dik-Dik, Rhino, Buffalo, Grevy’s Zebra and the long necked Gerenuk. Dinner and overnight at campsite.

DAY 3: SAMBURU - LAKE NAKURU

Wake up early for breakfast, break up camp and proceed to Lake Nakuru via Thomson Falls (Nyahururu) lunch en route to arrive in the afternoon and go for a game drive, where Flamingo and other birdlife can be seen. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

DAY 4: LAKE NAKURU - MASAI MARA

Pick up fresh supplies from Nakuru Town and drive through the floor of the Great Rift Valley. A short stop at Narok for lunch and then climb the western wall, to reach the Masai Mara Game Reserve in time for an evening game drive. Meals and overnight at the campsite.

DAY 5: MASAI MARAA Park of Giraffe

From the base camp, explore the Mara region, inhabited with Elephant, Zebra, Rhino, Lion and other kind of game throughout the year, with the spectacular wildebeest migration from Serengeti mainly in July and August. Visit a Maasai Manyatta (village) at an extra cost.

DAY 6: MASAI MARA

After breakfast, a 3 hour walk outside the game reserve with the help of Maasai guides. Early lunch at campsite with an afternoon siesta. A late evening game viewing with dinner and overnight at the camp.

DAY 7: MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

A late breakfast and then break camp. Drive to Nairobi, arriving early afternoon.

BEST OF KENYA

MT.KENYA - SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE - LAKE BARINGO - LAKE NAKURU - MASAI MARA

ST 017 - 8 DAYS

DAY 1: NAIROBI - MT. KENYA

Depart from Nairobi for Naro Moru passing through lavish green vegetation of the highlands of Central Province, the agricultural nucleus of Kenya. If time permits a visit to Karatina, Africa’s biggest open air market is advised thus reaching Naro Moru in time for lunch. In the afternoon a 3 hour walk to the Mau Mau Caves. Dinner and overnight at Mt. Kenya Base Camp.

DAY 2: MT. KENYA - SAMBURU

After breakfast depart for Samburu passing through Isiolo, the gateway to "George Adamson’s" land of Lions, reaching there in time for lunch. Set up camp and proceed for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the camp site.

After breakfast go for a game drive returning in time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure, followed by a game drive at 16.00 hrs. Samburu is an open Savannah plain and in the vicinity of the Uaso Nyiro River. One can find the tiny Dik-Dik, Rhino, Buffalo, Elephant, Cheetah, Leopard and Lion. Unique to this area also are the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, the long necked Gerenuk and the Beison Oryx, and not forgetting the Hippo’s and Crocodiles in the river and a hundred different species of birds including the Somali Ostrich. Dinner and overnight at the camp site.

DAY 4: SAMBURU - BARINGO

After an early morning breakfast, depart for Lake Baringo, take a boat ride at the Bird Watcher’s and Naturalist’s paradise. Dinner and overnight at the Baringo Campsite.

DAY 5: BARINGO - LAKE NAKURU N. PARK

After breakfast leave for a game drive in search of the world renowned Flamingos at Lake Nakuru via Lake Bogoria, reaching in time for lunch at the campsite. Game viewing in the afternoon, Dinner and overnight at the Nakuru campsite.

DAY 6: LAKE NAKURU - MASAI MARA

Early morning break up camp and proceed to Masai Mara. Picnic lunch enroute at Narok. Here numerous carvings and Maasai Craft can be purchased, arriving Masai Mara in the evening. Dinner and overnight at campsite.

DAY 7: MASAI MARA

06.30 hrs. - Pre breakfast game drive, return to the campsite for breakfast, after breakfast proceed for a further game drive arriving at the campsite in time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure, followed by an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

DAY 8: MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

After an early breakfast, break camp and the tour returns to Nairobi to arrive early afternoon.
