
This afternoon tour visits the Karen Blixen Museum at the foot of Ngong Hills, the farm and home of Isak Dinesen of "Out of Africa fame". This is pilgrimage to the memory of a woman admired all over the universe, both for her spirit and writings. This is followed by a visit to Giraffe Manor, the wildlife conservation centre and home of Daisy, the famous rothschild giraffe who starred in the film "The Last Giraffe". Finally your tour will take you to the Ostrich Park and Arts and Craft Village, where you will see the worlds largest bird being farmed and discover that the myth of the scared ostrich is just that - a myth!!. Return to your hotel at sundown.
This unique wildlife sanctuary is just a few kilometres from the city centre but despite its proximity over, 50 species of mammals can be found there, including four of the big five. The tour also includes a visit to the animal orphanage which is at the park gate. Then return back to your hotel by sundown.
Lake Nakuru lies in the volcano-strewn Rift Valley, one of a chain of 8 lakes which stretches the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia. The 160kms drive from Nairobi passes through highland farms of the Kikuyu people before descending the escarpment into the dramatic landscape of the Rift. Lunch is taken within the park followed by an extensive game drive which focuses on the bewildering spectacle of a million flamingo. The park is also famous for its various wildlife species. On return journey the tour passes via Lake Naivasha where tea is taken among the fever trees and where bird watchers will delight in the fantastic array of birdlife.
