TREE HOTEL

ST 004 - 11/2 DAYS

There are three Tree Hotels in the vacinity of Nyeri approximately 160kms north of Nairobi. Treetops,Ark & Mountain Lodge.

DAY 1: NAIROBI - TREE HOTEL

The drive passes the small industrial town of Thika surrounded by extensive pineapple plantations. After crossing the Tana River, source of some of Kenya’s hydro power, the landscape changes and becomes more lush as you climb into the farmlands of the Kikuyu people. Lunch is taken at the Outspan Hotel in Nyeri, in the case of visitors to Treetops and Mountain Lodge and the Aberdare Country Club in the case of the Ark. In the afternoon proceed to your treehotel where the night is spent and where a procession of forest animals visit the floodlit water holes and saltlicks. Elephants, rhino, buffalo and many other species are commonly seen.

DAY 2: TREE HOTEL - NAIROBI

Breakfast in the morning before returning to Nairobi in time for lunch.

ST 005 - 11/2 DAYS

DAY 1: NAIROBI - AMBOSELI

A nightstop enables you a more leisurely encounter with the magnificent array of wildlife than is possible on the one day safari.

The tour leaves in the morning reaching Amboseli National Park in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive in the area of the permanent swamps will reveal much game, large and small, eminently photogenic in these splendid surroundings. Dinner and overnight in a lodge.

DAY 2: AMBOSELI - NAIROBI

Early morning game drive, return for breakfast and proceed on back to Nairobi arriving by lunch hour.

 

AMBOSELI N. PARK & TSAVO PARK

ST 006 - 21/2 DAYS

DAY 1: NAIROBI - AMBOSELI

The drive across Masai Country is enlivened by the sight of these proud warriors and by wildlife scattered across the plains. The park is reached in time for lunch and a rest before an afternoon game drive which enables you to explore this wonderland set so picturesquely at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight in a lodge.

DAY 2: AMBOSELI -TSAVO

Before breakfast a final game drive can be taken in Amboseli when Mt. Kilimanjaro usually appears from its mantle of clouds. After breakfast drive to Tsavo N. Park crossing a dramatic lava flow at the park boundary. Lunch is followed by a game drive in this, Kenya’s largest park, noted especially for its enormous elephant population. Also visit Mzima Springs - an Oasis where hippo and crocodile can usually be seen. Dinner and overnight in a lodge.

DAY 3: TSAVO - NAIROBI

Depart after breakfast for Nairobi passing via the main highway from Mombasa reaching the capital by lunch time.

 

MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

ST 007 - 2 ½ DAYS

DAY 1: NAIROBI - MASAI MARA

Passing through the dramatic landscape of the Great Rift Valley and the plains inhabited by Maasai pastoralists, the Masai Mara National Reserve is reached in time for lunch. In the afternoon a game drive to search out for Lions which the Reserve is so famous. Dinner and overnight in a lodge.

DAY 2: MASAI MARA

An extensive morning game drive is followed by a restful afternoon by the poolside or another game drive. This part of the Northern Serengeti is where the great wildebeest migration is resident and it will be possible to see huge herds of these animals covering much of the Reserve. All meals and overnight as before.

DAY 3: MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

Breakfast at the lodge before returning to Nairobi that is reached at lunchtime.

 

TREE HOTEL - SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE - MOUNT KENYA

ST 008 - 4 DAYS

DAY 1: NAIROBI - TREE H0TEL

Drive through the ranchland before reaching the foothills of Mt. Kenya where much Coffee is grown. Arrive at your base hotel in time for lunch. Afterwards drive through the forest to reach your Tree Hotel where the night is spent watching the never ending pageant of wildlife that visits the floodlit waterhole and saltlick below. Dinner and overnight at a Tree Hotel.

DAY 2: TREE HOTEL - SAMBURU

After Breakfast continue northwards, skirting the massif of Mt. Kenya to reach Samburu National Reserve for lunch. In the afternoon a game drive affords the opportunity to see certain northern species of game not seen south of the equator. These include the resplendent reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra and the Somali Ostrich. Overnight at a lodge or camp in the Reserve.

Mount Kenya Safari ClubDAY 3: SAMBURU - MOUNT KENYA

A morning game drive in this wild but splendid reserve. Continue to the luxurious Mount Kenya Safari Club whose immaculately manicured gardens nestle on the forested slopes of the mountain. The afternoon is free to enjoy the numerous optional facilities of the Club that include horseback riding , tennis, golf, bowls, swimming or just luxuriating in the comfort and beauty of your surroundings. Overnight at the Club.

(A tie and a jacket is compulsory for gentlemen at dinner time while ladies are required to dress formally).

Day 4: MOUNT KENYA - NAIROBI

After another restful morning return to Nairobi via Nyeri where lunch is taken at the Outspan Hotel. Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scout movement spent the last years of his life at the Outspan and is buried in Nyeri cemetery. Reach Nairobi in the early evening.

 

LAKE NAKURU / NAIVASHA - MASAI MARA

ST 009 - 4 DAYS

DAY 1: NAIROBI - NAKURU - NAIVASHA

Shortly after leaving Nairobi the vast panorama of the Great Rift Valley unfolds below you and there are splendid stopping places from which to photograph this entrancing spectacle. Cross the Valley floor to reach Lake Nakuru National Park, world renowned for its spectacle of millions of flamingo. The Park is rich in other birdlife and there are a surprising number of animals in this small and beautiful reserve. Overnight is spent in either Lake Nakuru or Lake Naivasha Hotel.

DAY 2: NAIVASHA - MASAI MARA

There is a chance to view the beauty of Lake Naivasha, with it's varied birdlife, before driving across the plains to reach the Masai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing will doubtlessly offer the sight of the huge black-manned lions for which the Mara is justly famous. Overnight at a lodge or luxury tented camp in the Reserve.

DAY 3: MASAI MARA

The day is spent watching and photographing game in the finest of Kenya’s game sanctuaries. All meals and overnight as before.

DAY 4: MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

After breakfast return to Nairobi with picnic lunch en route to arrive early afternoon.

 

AMBOSELI - TSAVO - NAIVASHA - MASAI MARARhinoes

ST 010 - 51/2 DAYS

DAY 1: NAIROBI - AMBOSELI PARK

Depart Nairobi for Amboseli and drive through Maasai lands to the park which nestles at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Lunch is taken in the lodge followed by an afternoon game drive in this most photogenic park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 2: AMBOSELI - TSAVO

After an early morning game drive, leave Amboseli for Tsavo West National Park. The route follows the base of the chyulu hills and crosses a great lava flow which evidences Mount Kilimanjaro’s volcanic past. Lunch and an afternoon game drive in the park. A visit is made to Mzima Springs where from an underwater observations tank, it is possible to see submerged hippos walking the floor of the springs. Dinner and overnight in a lodge.

DAY 3: TSAVO - NAIVASHA

Depart after breakfast and drive to Naivasha via Nairobi taking picnic lunch en route. Arrive Lake Naivasha which lies among extinct volcanoes on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The Lake is a birdwatcher’s paradise. Dinner and overnight in a lodge.

DAY 4: LAKE NAIVASHA - MASAI MARA

Depart Naivasha after breakfast across the Maasai plains to reach the renowned masai mara in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive introduces you to the bewildering herds and the numerous predators which have made the reserve so famous. Dinner and overnight in a lodge.

DAY 5: MASAI MARA

A full day exploring wildlife where you may be able to see all the big five. All meals and overnight at The lodge.

DAY 6: MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

Depart after breakfast and proceed on back to Nairobi to arrive by lunch hour.

 

NAIROBI -SAMBURU - TREETOPS - LAKE NAKURU-LAKE NAIVASHA - MASAI MARA-NAIROBI

ST 011 - 7 DAYSA pair of Oryx

DAY 1: NAIROBI- SAMBURU

Pick up from your hotel for an early departure out of Nairobi and through the rolling agricultural land around Nyeri. Pass Mt. Kenya and cross the Equator and proceed to Samburu Game Reserve to arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive, Dinner and overnight at a lodge.

DAY 2: SAMBURU

Morning and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight as before.

DAY 3: SAMBURU -TREE HOTEL

Leave after breakfast to proceed on to the Trestle arriving by lunch time. Transfer to Tree Hotel for dinner and overnight.(Here the game is watched from the balcony of your room )

DAY 4: TREE HOTEL - LAKE NAIVASHA

Breakfast at the base hotel. Drive around the Aberdare Mountains and descend into the Rift Valley to Nakuru National Park. Lunch followed by an afternoon game drive, Dinner and Overnight at Lake Naivasha hotel.

DAY 5: MASAI MARA

Leave after breakfast and drive to the Masai Mara to arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at a lodge or Luxury Tented Camp.

DAY 6: MASAI MARA

Morning and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight as before.

DAY 7: MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

After breakfast drive back to Nairobi, arriving before lunch time.
